As a young newspaper photographer, I learned quickly that if people didn’t feel comfortable, it would show, and the photos would feel ingenuine. So I always listened to their story and worked hard to put them at ease. When I started documenting weddings, I continued that approach—taking care of my subjects and trying to extract their true character in each frame.
For me, it’s never just about photographing my clients. Listening, caring, and connecting are just as important as the technical and artistic parts of what we do. I feel strongly that a wedding day should be a wedding day and never feel like a photo shoot and that being photographed should always be an enjoyable experience.
Often, when I’m looking at the photos afterwards, I feel a smile on my face because there is just so much joy in each frame. Every time I’m given the opportunity to meet a new couple, I am so excited to share in their joy, put them at ease, and document their day in a way that captures all the love surrounding them.
People aside, I love that weddings also bring together so many other elements. I love documenting landscapes, still life, night time, and variety in general. I love that weddings are an arena of collaboration. Being a wedding photographer, you think on your feet to navigate lighting, weather, tight time frames and spaces, and every kind of personality - and that’s where I thrive. I love being an artist, but I also love being out there in the field, capturing each unique story.

"One look at Natalie’s work and you instantly recognize that she is a brilliant photographer. Her images tell a story. They convey powerful emotion. They instantly transport you to a beautiful moment frozen in time. I’ve been lucky enough to work with Natalie on countless weddings, so I know how talented she is behind the camera. It’s her heart that makes her different. She genuinely cares about people. I’ve seen her crawl, climb, hang, and sprint to get the perfect shot. She’s a remarkable talent and a beautiful soul that sees the beauty in everything. "
